شاعر مشرق علامہ محمد اقبال رحمۃ اللہ علیہ نے ایک شعر کہا تھا
اے طائر لاہوتی اس رزق سے موت اچھی جس رزق سے آتی ہو پرواز میں کوتاہی

وہ سال تھا انیس سو اٹھانوے کا مہینہ چل رہا تھا مئ کا اور تاریخ تھی اٹھائیس کہ جس دن ملک پاکستان دنیا کے سامنے ایک ایٹمی طاقت بن کر ابھرا یہ دن ملک پاکستان کی تاریخ میں ہمیشہ یاد رکھا جاۓ گا اور عالم اسلام میں اس دن مسلمانوں کا سینہ فخر سے اور چوڑا ہوا کہ اب ہم بھی ایٹمی پاور بن چکے ہیں..

لیکن

ذرا ٹھہریے یہ وہی دن تھا کہ جب پوری دنیا کے مظلوم مسلمانوں نے کفار کی آنکھوں میں آنکھیں ڈال کر یہ کہا کہ اب ہم بھی ایٹمی پاور ہیں اب پاکستان تمہیں نیست ونابود کر دے گا آپکو فلسطینیوں کے جذبات تو یقیناً یاد ہوں گے جو پاکستان سے ہزاروں کلومیٹرز کے فاصلے پر اسرائیلیوں کی آنکھوں میں آنکھیں ڈالے بات کر رہے تھے آپ کو پاکستان کی بغل میں موجود وہ کشمیری بھی تو یاد ہوں گے جنہوں نے اس دن خوشیاں بنائیں اور نعرہ تکبیر اللہ اکبر کے نعروں سے پوری ریاست کشمیر گونج اٹھی تھی آپکو ہندوستان کے مظلوم مسلمان بھی یاد ہوں گے جو ہندو بنیے کے سامنے سینہ بلند کیے کہتے تھے میاں حوصلہ کرو، اب احتیاط سے کام لو پاکستان اب ایٹمی ملک بن چکا ہے

لیکن

ساری امیدوں ساری خوشیوں پر پانی پھر گیا نا تو پاکستان نے فلسطینیوں کو آذاد کروایا اور نا ہی بھارت کے مظلوم مسلمانوں کی آواز بنا وہ تو چھوڑیئے سات دہائیوں سے جس کشمیر کا دعویدار رہا کہ جس کشمیر کو اپنی شہ رگ کا درجہ دیا اگر شہ رگ نا ہوئی تو مر جاۓ گا لیکن یہ تو دنیا کا آٹھواں عجوبہ نکلا جو بدون شہ رگ چنگا بھلا زندہ اور تر و تازہ ہے وادی کشمیر کہ جس میں مسلمانوں کے شب و روز خون کی رنگینیوں سے رنگین ہیں ان کے لیے بھی کچھ نہیں کر سکا صد افسوس

ڈاکٹر عبدالقدیر فرماتے ہیں

 مجھے اب بھی یاد ہے جب میں نے ایک پکار سنی اور آدمی چیخ اٹھا

 "مبارک ہو سر مبارک ہو ہم ایٹمی پاور ہیں اب"

 یقین کریں میں اپنی زندگی میں کبھی نہیں رویا لیکن ان لمحوں سے میری آنکھیں نم ہوگئیں لیکن اب تک ہم مسلمانوں کے لیے کچھ نہیں کر سکے

That year was the month of May 1998 and the date was 28 the day that Pakistan emerged as a nuclear power in the eyes of the world. This day will always be remembered in the history of Pakistan and on this day in the Islamic world. His chest widened with pride that now we too have become a nuclear power.

But

Wait a minute, this was the day when the oppressed Muslims all over the world looked the infidels in the eye and said that now we are also a nuclear power, now Pakistan will destroy you. You will surely remember the feelings of the Palestinians who are far away from Pakistan. Thousands of kilometers away, they talk to  Israelis were talking eye to eye. You will remember the Kashmiri people next to Pakistan who made the day happy and the whole state of Kashmir resounded with the slogans of Takbir Allah Akbar. The oppressed Muslims of India will also be remembered who used to raise their chests in front of the Hindus.

But

All hopes and all happiness were dashed. Neither Pakistan liberated the Palestinians nor became the voice of the oppressed Muslims of India. Let alone the Kashmir which has been claiming for seven decades the status of its aorta. If not, he will die, but this is the eighth wonder of the world, which is alive and fresh without a vein. The Kashmir Valley, which is full with the blood colors of the Muslims day and night, could not do anything for them. Sorry

Dr. Abdul Qadir says

 I still remember when I heard a shout and the man screamed

 "Congratulations sir, we are nuclear power now"

 Believe me I have never cried in my life but from those moments my eyes got wet but so far we have not been able to do anything for Muslims
